EDIPLIN 2000: plinths and piles in reinforced concrete

Ediplin 2000 is a Windows application for the analysis and the structural calculation, finalized to the planning and verification of plinths and piles in reinforced concrete, characterized by reliability of modeling, simplicity of input and speed of execution.
The program allows to define plinths of any polygonal form, on which insist pillars and piles, freely definable in number and position. It is possible to define typologies as the triangular, rectangular or polygonal plinths, with one or more piles.
Soil phisical properties and stratigraphy geometry may be defined and used for structural modeling and bearing capacity calculations, if required by user.
The actions for the plinth are the six components of every pillar (three strengths and three couples), specified for every condition of load agent (permanent, varying, seismic, etc.). They are directly assigned or read by files produced by an external program of structural calculation as Edisis.

Ediplin is very easy to use in all phases of planning: inserting data, researching the preliminary design of the elements, local modification of the reinforcements proposed, and the composition of the drawings. The help functions and the graphic supports supply the user with a sufficiently complete information framework for all the analysis phases and they guide him in his choice of design solutions.

  Ease of Use

The ease of input and the immediate graphic response together with the speed of analysis enable a quick examination of several design variables favouring better and more responsible designing.

  New seismic technical standard

Ediplin was developed as design tool completely inspired by the new italian seismic technical standard introduced with Testo Unitario delle Norme Tecniche per le Costruzioni(DM 14/09/2005).

  Speed of the code

The optimum preliminary design of the elements that reduce costs and ensure a good structural response is not known a priori. The designer can achieve this only through a process of gradual refinement of the starting solution, following a cycle providing for the modification of the preliminary design, the re-execution of the analysis and the summarised evaluation of the results obtained. This way of working, however, can be carried out in practice only if the analysis tool allows easy data modification and if the elaboration times are not prohibitive. Moreover, the designer must be able to concisely evaluate the results on the basis of the useful indications supplied by the program. In Ediplin all this is realy possible, thanks to the efficiency of the code and the graphic supports with which it is provided.
